The guest is pre recorded being interviewed by someone else, probably a producer, then for the show they playback the guest's footage and tosh pretends to be doing the interviews. JUST SO WE'RE CLEAR! whenever he gets big laughs for saying outlandish things to them, they're not even there live.

Transformers Age of Extinction makes The Happening look like a masterpiece.
Its just unlikely that they would waste the star of the show's time unless its a live interview. I'm sure its the producers who record the interview a week before daniel records his audience portion of the show. The wii fit girl where daniel repeated "show me your butt" and she responded as if he was asking her questions made it clear
