Message is good and solid...

...but not a great movie. Still deserves more than 3.5. I sould put a 6/7 just for the message.

The message IS good and pertinent. As to the technical quality, that is different matter.

I was surprised at the rough cuts and scenes that seemed to be out of place in the movie. For example, the scene where York and his cohort go to Virginia's office and meet with her. When York goes to sit down, there is a rough cut, almost like a burp.

Also, after the pastor has told his secretary about what the doctor said of the visitor, there is a later scene where the pastor and doctor are coming out from seeing the visitor and the doctor gives the exact same information that was already given in the previously mentioned scene.

On the plus side, the guy playing York was really smarmy and oily. :)

As I watched this movie, it seemed very familiar and it came to me that it is based on a book called "In His Steps" published in 1897. My grandmother gave it to me as a child. I regret that I did not finish it and after I left home, my parents moved a couple of times and it disappeared. However, I know the gist of the book and it inspired the WWJD campaign that is the motivation for a lot of us to guide our daily walk. I am trying to do better with that every day and learn to ask the very important question "What Would Jesus Do?". Sometimes, the answer comes easier than I expect but it is always proves to be the right decision.
