The plot is copied from an independent film!

The fattest man in britain has a very similar plot to the independent film 'Tomorrows Promise" which was released 6 months ago!

Tomorrow's Promise tells the tale of an unlikely friendship between Jack Clapton and Connor Rogers. Jack is an old war veteran who is seeing out his last few weeks in a hospice, reflecting on an eventful life. Connor is a troublesome teenager who is assigned on community service to him and even though they are opposites they become friends.

thats a pretty loose comparison. I haven't seen that film but Jeff Pope, the producer, said he had been working with Caroline on this project for two years, so it can't have been knocked up as a result of seeing an independent film in the past 6 months. It was all filmed in the summer anyway! And its definetly based on that shock doc about 'Jack'- Timothy Spall has said he is the basis of the character of Georgie.
