From the lame concept to the bland script and lousy acting, I genuinely disliked just about everything about this movie. The only credit I will give is to the dp.

I agree!! Maybe if you are a white person living in Thailand... no, not a 'white person' but a person from Europe or the USA who loves Thailand, then you'd like it. Personally I don't like third-world countries even though I travel a lot to such places due to my global corp jobs.
Didn't like the acting, didn't like the premise, thought it was terrible. Figured William whatshisface musta needed the money. As to the 'star' he's a third-rate b-actor at best, and this was NOT his best.

Yeah, it was pretty uninteresting. It dragged on. Like you said, bland script and lazy acting.

It's just obviously one of those ones where nobody was trying. From the writing to the directing to the acting, nobody was actually putting any effort forth. It was all by the numbers and generic the whole way through. Probably just a free trip to Thailand for everyone involved...
