Why aren't the 'prey' issued firearms?

This show is a joke.

The Mantracker has no fear of being shot dead from his horse at a range of 250 yards. Real prey know well enough to carry firearms and real trackers must be cognisant of that fact.

The clock eliminates any opportunity for the prey to backtrack, this evasion tactic turns the tracker into the prey. Again no fear for the Mantracker.

Atleast give the prey a friggen paintball gun, Mr. Badass Mantracker gets painted and he has to lay "dead" in the bush for a couple days. No shirt, no tent.

The clock eliminates any opportunity for the prey to improvise a nasty trap for the Mantracker. Still no fear for our "fearless" hero.

There's multiple camera crews so as not give away the prey? Yeah, like there all wearing the same kind of soled footwear.

Real trackers abuse their horses in pursuit. Ego satisfaction demands it. The Mantracker cupcakes his horse as if it was his daughter's prized animal.

All in all, this show's about as legitimate as a war movie filmed entirely with Nerf toy guns.

Give me a firearm, give the Mantracker a firearm and I'll do it for real anytime he's ready.

Ah yes, everything's better with guns (eyeroll).

"Mr. Badass Mantracker" works in search and rescue. His job is to save people's lives. Not kill or be killed.

It's just a show.... it's not supposed to be a life-and-death scenario. These aren't real fugitives. They're just regular people trying to have some fun.

That sounds like something out of a Stephen King novel. Make a reality show where the prey have guns and can actually kill their chaser? Crazy.

Paintball guns would be too dangerous. They might accidentally hit Mantracker in the face, or hit the horse, causing it to rear/bolt and throw Mantracker.
