First Impressions: Rise

Ok. I just finished Lost Girl's series finale. I enjoyed it, and thought it was a decent finale. The show's budget constraints hurt them again, but I didn't think too badly.

- Kenzi goes off to enjoy human life. It's fitting, she deserves it.

- Bo sticks around to do what she does. I thought there was a good chance she would leave the colony. But she is no longer a "Lost Girl" and knows her place in the world now.

- Dyson is the new Trick, a role I think he'll be good at.

- Lauren and Bo finally end the Triangle. I'm sure I'm not alone in predicting that this would happen. I never really cared who Bo ended up with, but I do think it's what should have happened (2 years ago, but moving on...)

- Mark and Vex get together too. I'm sure Dyson is delighted.

- Tamsin died. I wasn't sure if she would. It was sad, I liked her as a character, but I think that one of the main characters had to go, she was the right choice. The right combination of completed story arc and dramatic impact.

- I didn't think Hades would be killed, only beaten. I was right, Hades isn't dead.

- They managed to end the Light/Dark divide in one colony, it's a start.

- Bruce was back briefly too. That was nice.

- What about Evony? I thought we would see something about her.

I liked the episode. Gave a decent ending to the characters, and the team was still intact kicking butt at the end. I'll go ahead and give it an A.

Would have been nice to see Evony again. I always liked her.

Yeah, I thought we would get something a little more definitive about how her story ends. Like Tristen says below, it would have cool had she been part of the gang during the finale.

I guess she just lives on as a human socialite, raising money for her disease.

I enjoyed your review and agree with you that it was a good finale. I was so glad that it didn't suck and they really tied up some loose ends.

The biggest being NO MORE TRIANGLE. Eventhough I have been a Doccubus fan, I was sick and tired of the Triangle and would have accepted Lauren and Bo NOT being together if they had just ended it years ago,

Glad Dyson is working behind the bar and was pleased to see Mark (my least favorite character) following in his dad's footprints and being a cop. Why did they not do this midway through the season ? I would have found Marks character more interesting.

Really was surprised that Vex and Mark hooked up. Other then Vex's fantasy of being with Mark early in the season, there wasn't much in the way of them being interested in each other sexually for the rest of the season. I would have been just as happy with them being "Bros". But I ok with the way it ended, mainly because I didn't care what happened to Mark.

Loved Vex in this finally. I too missed Evony. Wish she had been on the magical bus ride with everyone else.

Tamsin dying has a lot of people upset. But the truth is Tamsin was supposed to die and stay dead at the end is season 3. But JF decided to bring her back for 2 more seasons. I applaud that decision because I think Tamsins character has been the most interesting character on LG. The difficulties that Tamsin has had to go through far out ways the difficulties the other characters have had too. I would have loved it if Lauren's character had been give this range. But unfortunately all Lauren's character has been allowed to do is pine over Bo. So Tamsins dying didn't upset me. It just showed another great performance by RS.

I thought Eric Roberts really "humanized" Hades so much so that I was never convinced he was evil till the very end. Well done !!

Would have liked them to end with Baby Dagny sitting on the bar at the Dal with everyone around her. But I also liked seeing her as a teenager. The problem I had is that they made it seem that it had been a long time since Kenzi took her away with her. But the Valkyrie genetics say that it might have just been days or a few weeks for her to develope into a teenager. Maybe her being a new Valkyrie she ages slower then an old Valkyrie. I don't know. Someone on Twitter said that Tamsin was going to give birth to herself. I thought that was funny.

I give this episode a AAA+. The episode did not suck and they ended the Triangle.

Yup. Perhaps too little too late, but at least it didn't live on after the show.

I agree with this too, it was a nice touch, showing that they were on good terms now.

This is pretty much how I felt. I was fine with it, but didn't care all that much one way or another.

He was very good as Hades. We waited a long time to see him, and he delivered us a good villain.

It did seem like a lot of time had passed, but Lauren said she was aging quick like her mom, so my guess it was probably no more than a few months. I thought it was a very satisfactory finale, it didn't blow me away, but it checked all the boxes for things that had to be done.

Definitely agree! And I'm not normally a fan or Eric Roberts. I was always this close to believing him & actually liking him...until "Family Portrait" lol.

I can't wait to watch the second half of the show. Hopefully it will be on I the U.S. In January. Although in sad about Trick and Tamsin, it sounds like the second half is going to be a good watch. I never cared with whom Bo ended up, so I'm okay with it. As for Vex, yay, he lives! Not opposed to him being with a guy (but I wish it had been someone more interesting than Mark lol) even though I would have liked Vex with Kenzi more lol. I'm glad she gets to live a happy human life. Too bad they couldn't have her ex come back and her get back with him (I forget his name, but he was played by one of the Ashmore twins).

I apologize for my typos. Since the last update of the app, I can no longer see the first line or two of my post as I am typing it. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

The 2nd half was a little up and down, but I generally liked it. Hope you enjoy it as well, whenever it does air.
