I don't find this info on this site, and I don't seem to qualify to get on the FAQ site to ask it there. Does anyone know what locations were used for filming sites? Would appreciate knowing this.

Oh,-- an anachronism: Small, easy-to-pocket cell phones were not yet available in the time-frame of this story (mid-70s?). Anything like that, available then,
was near the size of a 2 qt milk carton, and with an antenna about 16" long. And in a simi-rural area like the ones depicted, there would be few signal towers nearby, if any at all.

Since I posed the above question, the site has provided the info -- filmed in the Onterio, Canada area. I did NOT see THAT coming.

Wow. That's a crying shame. Georgia has a film studio there and to film in Ontario is, well, ridiculous. Figures. Hollywood never ceases to amaze me.
