South Carolina ?

I am so disappointed that the setting for this movie is South Carolina instead of the tiny town of Zebulon, Georgia where this horror story actually happened. I grew up in a neighboring town and was fascinated to realize years later it all unfolded so "close to home" when I was a child. Reading the book I knew exactly which house she moved into and referred to as Tara.

I agree. And so far they have changed several things for the movie, they should have just left it alone. The real story is good enough!

The guide on my TV says it's set in Atlanta. I din't realize that was wrong, especially with the whole Scarlett O'Hara thing. I do have to say though, that Gina Gershon's accent is driving me crazy. It seems a little overexagerated.

Yeah I didn't care for Gina's accent, lol. I just didn't like how much of the movie was changed around, and how they completely cut Pat's mom out of the movie. She was a big part of the real story.

i'm from virginia. living in charlotte. this movie was more north than anything i've ever seen & heard. what i found most weird about the movie if it was claiming to be in south carolina or georgia country. those folks mention piggly wiggly 3 or 4 times a day. not in this movie! esp. with the way gina was talkin'

It's okay, honey. I...I was just talking to the cornfield.

I'm watching it right now, and I thought they mentioned Savannah as where they were. Hmmm...

Edit: As I have watched more, now I see the South Carolina references. :)

I am confused. Did it happen in SC or Georgia? The real estate flyer said SC but they mentioned Savannah a lot?
