so who is the blonde and the infection and...

I read the book a long time ago, it wasn't sensational, just straight forward reporting of events. I am watching the film now but it is really dragging on. I don't remember anything about a mysterious blonde woman Pat keeps seeing on the street(3 times now 3 hours into the movie), the weird bleeding infection, or the daughter who moved away and was never heard from again. Do any of these things get resolved at the end of this movie or am I going to be kicking the tv?

Revenge is a dish that best goes stale.

I am not sure about the rest of your questions, but I just assumed the blonde woman was someone in town who was rich and she was just jealous of, wanted her life, etc???

I think you are referring to her husband Tom's sister.

No, its someone else. And for the first post, the book talks in detail about pat an her infection.

Is the infection the open wound on her butt she made by digging at it with tweezers?

Hey you dang woodchucks, quit chuckin' my wood!

The book was a lot more than just a reporting of events, probably one of the most in depth true crime books I think I've ever read.

I'm only about 40 minutes into the film at the moment, and being a big fan of the book I'm pretty disappointed so far. Gina Gershon is absolutely perfect as Pat, no doubt about it. The things that are bothering me are the minor changes - the inclusion of 'Rachel' as the one who gets suspicious about Pat's behaviour, when in the actual story it was Susan, her daughter.

The timeline and other details have been skewed to fit into the film they want to make, but I can understand why they've done it. For those who haven't read the book and want more information on why Pat did the things she did etc, and a much deeper insight into the extended families on both sides, I can't recommend Ann Rules book enough.
