I just read the book, I thought it was a good read, but so different than the movie and this woman is far more messed up in the head than the movie makes it out to be. My God! It just seems to unreal that all this was allowed to go on.
And I don't see where she was so attractive either, even when younger.

Saw that post in another thread. I just finished reading the book as well. I couldn't put it down, and living in the Atlanta area my whole life, was especially interested.
I wouldn't say that the law enforcement were stupid, just that no one who came across Pat Taylor Allanson was prepared for that level of crazy. No regard for human life, destroying generations of your family and others inside and out. The woman is a monster, and apparently walks the streets of Georgia today, though she was arrested in 2008 for illegally obtaining a large quantity of prescription pills by posing to be from a doctor's office (like her second arrest), I can't find any information online to suggest that she is currently behind bars.
I highly recommend the book. Even at over 500 pages, I read it in just a few days. It is so damn entertaining and at the same time, disturbing, that you can't put it down. It sounds like this Lifetime movie version really F-ed it up!

In my opinion this woman was as crazy as you can get! 3 people in Tom's family die and one almost die? And no one thinks that it might be a good idea to have her tested?
She is not just a sociopath, but a psychopath. Obviously the keystone cops are running whatever the heck town that was...
One thing about people like that, they do not think what they do is wrong so they will continue to break the law.
Surely she will caught again.
Yeah her looks were totally overblown, she was pretty young but older I just didn't see it. I guess she was good in bed.
