Filming Location

I am eager to see this movie just because part of it was filmed in Surprise, Arizona.

I was born and raised in Phoenix and I drove through Surprise several times traveling back and forth between home and Monterey, California. As late as the middle 1970's Surprise consisted of one building that housed a small bar, a tiny grocery store, and I think a post office. Plus a dozen or so mobile homes scattered in the area around the highway junction. Today, Surprise has over a 100,000 and is the tenth largest city by population in the state.

Also, the title of the movie, "Valley of the Sun," has been a marketing nickname for Phoenix and its surrounding cities in the Salt River Valley since World War II.

I have been known to be a little bit Chauvanistic about Phoenix and Arixona.
