Peter Stormare truly is a Chameleon

Peter can take any role and completely divulge himself in it and be so believable that you forget who you're watching.

Always loved his acting.

I just saw this film, renting it solely based on it's great movie title and I'm sure glad I did. I'm not familiar with Peter Stormare's work as an actor but his performance in this film is among the best I've seen all year. Really nice, small film, glad I took the gamble to watch it and I praise my local Blockbuster for having it on display.

Peter Stormare is genius. Discovered by the Coens while he was playing Hamlet in a Bergman production thereof, Stormare was originally written as "The Swede" in "Miller's Crossing." However, he had to bow out when he couldn't get out of his theater contract and his part was then given to "The Dane." The Coens then cast him as Buscemi's silent, surly, sociopathic, woodchopping sidekick in "Fargo." The rest, as they say, is history. Chocolat, anyone?

I checked this movie out almost entirely based on the fact that he was in it, and perhaps a bit of the mystery angle.

I do like his acting.

xtc, i completely agree with you about Stormare. I was really happy to finally see him in a leading role (are there others you'd recommend?)He did an excellent job i thought, with the physical part of his performance- the little details of motion and posture et al.

just fyi, and i am not trying to be smarmy here, 'divulge' has the opposite meaning from your usage . "I cannot divulge my source"(I cannot reveal my source) is what a reporter might say when they are talking to a lawyer. I think the word you want is 'immerse'. And you are right- he certainly does immerse himself in his roles. I seriously think that anyone who saw his Fargo performance- will never forget it!

Plse tell me other roles of his that you really liked. I only remember Birth, but it was too small a role for his talent.

Sorry for the late reply, and ya you are absolutely right about my (wrong)word usage :)

With his other films the thing is its tough because he doesn't normally play main roles so I have some films to recommend of his but again he plays a minor roles but he plays them exquisitely!

Such as Janie Jones, The Killing Room, and Unknown(I enjoyed this film in general and would recommend watching it even though his role is minor, this is with Jim Caviezal don't mix up with another movie that has the same title also don't spoil the movie before watching it, has a bit of a twist ending) come to mind.

He was truly menacing in the Killing Room. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1119191/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_62

Agreed. I watched this film mainly because he was starring. He conveys so much in such subtle ways.

Loved the film.
