I think it would have done better if it was released around the World Cup. It just seems like this is going to flop because the hype of it has all died down and the film will get lost.

I agree. Surely it would have made sense to release it during the run up to the World Cup?
shareI went to see it yesterday and I thought it was a very beautiful film - both funny and moving. I'm not interested in football at all so, if I'd thought that's all that the film was about, I'd have been very put off. Although football was the reason for the children's journey, it was the journey itself and the kids' performances that made the film so wonderful. I hope people will go and see it - 25% of the profits of the film are being donated to Children In Need.

The timing of the release might have worked better for last summer but then there is always the risk it would get overshadowed by the blockbuster releases.
