What happened in the final segment of the movie?

What always happens in these crap Lifetime movies? The obsessed psychopath is found out and there is a violent confrontation which results in him or her either ending up in a mental institution as was the case here or dead. The victim(s) live happily ever after.

Could y'all give a little more detail? I saw up until Brent slammed the husband's head with a 2x4. I'm guessing the cops were already on their way to visit Brent and stumbled into the mess?
