Iranian censorship + corruption

Interesting portrayal of Iranian society. I wonder if the corruption is so widespread that one can even obtain foreign country visas by paying money? Are there restrictions on foreign travel of Iranian nationals?

reply

corruption exists and there is no denying about it. as for the visas, many countries hardly issue visa for iranians these days but there is no restrictions on foreign travels by the government except for opposition figures who have been banned from travelling to other countries (surprised?!!) or men who are eligible to militiary service and have devided not to continue their studies thus cant use the exemptions.

reply

Oh cool. Stupid policy to not issue visas for Iranians as more open contact is the best way to resolve difference of opinion.
Personally it has been my long term dream to tour Iran (from a historical perspective). Not sure how easy or safe that is...

reply

they are concerned about terrorism, but the fact is that utmost majority of iranians who try to leave the country are the ones who are sick of the situation and have found the ideas and implemented policies of the regime against their own views.(government agents rarely apply for a visa in a way ordinary people do!!!)
iran was a good place to visit before and might become a one in the future but as of now it's very difficult for me to recommend a trip to anybody.
Cheers.

reply

Oh I didn't know there were terrorist being exported from Iran. I thought it was primarily a Saudi Arabian and Pakistani disease :)
I have incidently seen a lot of Iranian tourists traveling outside Iran.

reply

reply

reply

iranian expatriates society grows larger every year thanks to the circumstances.

reply

can i ask you something?how do most iranians feel about ahmadinejad?personally i love that guy but i'm interested in what his people think about him?

reply

The answer depends on the person you ask the question from and the official number of people who voted for him is highly disputed. I dislike his ideology and political decisions immensely but no doubt, there are people who support him among all layers of the society. Though In general, the middle class youth are against him and his supporters.

reply

How in the world could you "love that guy"? Clearly, you're clueless about Iran and the previous election and how little regard he has for the country.

reply

Of course I've never been to Iran and I don't know him personally, I just made my opinion about him from the interviews, he seems like a nice guy,he says a lot of truth
