Soundtrack

I thoroughly enjoyed the choice of songs in this film, very atmospheric and beautiful. It seems like most of the tracks were acquired by the filmmaker through personal connections though, as there's practically nothing about the musicians online.
Would anybody know how to describe the specific style of music that's played throughout ? Like, for example, the record Lenny plays for himself in his apartment before he has the bug nightmare ? It feels like a very east-coast-y kind of recent jazz, but a more specific genre would help in my search.
