Why.... Why they need this?

Honestly i love martial arts, i love martial arts movies, and i saw pretty much everything that was done in the US since 88(before this, i saw little outside Norris or Lee, cause they mostly have awfull sound effect)

Then when it comes to asian, this is mostly the same thing all the time. If you watch a Thai film, you are sure the fighting will be Top Notch Brutal but the story will be as thin as a paper sheets, half the time concerning a traditional artefact stolen.... I loved Ong Bak, when it came out it was fresh and all, but 50% of the Thai movies that i saw since then where Ong Bak wannabe clones...

Then you got Chinese movies. I loved Ip Man 1&2, i loved Ip Man 3 as well, i loved Fearless, but the danger you get when you get a chinese movie is that most of the time the movie will be a wire fess... and as a martial artist i have a lot of trouble getting along with that.

I mean, i know movies Martial Arts are not like in real life, even the movies like Never Back Down that want a more "realistic aproach" in the style of current MMA are far from reality. You need to put something spectacular to entertain, if you go in a too much realistic aproach, it won't be very entertaining. BUT i don't get why they have trouble putting awesome movies without wires... Ip Man from what i recall was wire-free. Fearless did had some, but very few and they where not too much over the top. But when the guys literally float and fly... i have a lot of trouble getting into the movie.

I just receive this one tonight, like i said i try to get as many MA movies i can. And i pretty much always check on imdb first the trailer to see wich movie im in the mood for. Then i saw this was all wire... a shame really cause the movie plot seem pretty good.

Anyway ill pass on this one for tonight, i will give it a go eventually, but im curious as to what people like so much with wired stuff...

I HATE the wires and floating crap too. I love the old school kung fu flicks where they didn't do that crap except very sparingly. Although this movie has that stuff, it has some really good "regular" fighting too. The wires don't dominate completely like so many other films.
