the movie was a good movie didnt agree with one thing

back when this movie was taking place traditional martial artists were much better fighters then they are now. this was a time when martial artists faught all the time against many different arts but not just in tournements but no holds barred fights where both fighters offten signed death wavers so niether fighter would be responsible if the other fighter died and at the time martial artists had nothing other then martial arts to do and at the time every form of chinese martial arts had extensive grappling training.

the problem is that it is historically recorded where many chinese fighters had faught wrestlers of the time and completly dominated infact legendary hurculous Obrian challenged any man on earth back then and said he could defeat them when hua yuenjia agreed he backed out at the last moment for hua was a known for dominating fighters of other systems.

these times were not like now where the average martial arts school is white washed with no sparring they had constant sparring and were very dangerous fighters
