What is with low-budget horror films and horribly edited trailers?

RE: Subject

I'm working on a horror film and of course it's going to be low budget but Jesus Christ this makes me want to try even harder to make my film awesome.

It just hurts the horror fan deep inside me when I see these interesting ideas and then I watch the trailer and it's just horrible...

That is all.

Haha. I hear you. This movie does look terrible, and you're right - the trailer is just as bad as the movie is sure to be.

Exactly - if you put a half-arsed effort into your trailer, the trailer is what the film is going to be like, it's supposed to be a the film in summary and should represent all aspects of it, it's not just scenes cobbled together. And if you put a half-arsed effort into your trailer, that speaks volumes about your film. The first thing that went through my head was - "Oh great this movie is horribly edited".

I'm all for supporting indie films, and indie horror films, but more often than not, indie horrors turn out like *beep* and I'm all for supporting good indie films...so...

That is all.
