Hmm, iinteresting movie. *Possible Spoilers*

So I finished watching the movie for the first time and I guess it's an interesting enough. It's not the worst movie I've seen, but it's not the best either.

Best compliment I can give this movie is that it actually scared me at some points. It built suspension well enough and it give out scares at the right time (often enough anyway). Albeit the 'ghosts' got rather cheesy later. However, the poor music really worked against the suspension. It was always too dramatic and just plain too high octave.

Now I'm getting into the disadvantages, though, and this movie had plenty of it. The worst part of the movie is probably the poor characters. As some others have mentioned on this board, most of the cast didn't seem like, well, criminals. They were always asking about each other's well being, acting rather, well, 'ditzy', and being overly concerned about robbing the dead (considering they were robbing living people and one just got out of jail).

I've been into other topics which compares this (unfavorably) to The Descent and, yes, I would have to agree with the general assessment, and similar to me, others have made the same complaints regarding the characters, especially that they look like supermodels. Of course, the movie is obviously using the women's good looks to present itself more favorably to the male audience...or perhaps it's just a coincidence that all of the women appear to be wearing skin-tight shorts and low cut shirts. Perhaps it's also my imagination that the camera seems to focus prominently on those areas throughout the movie too.

To get to the point, what is my overall view of the movie? Well, it's a decent romp, but not really a good horror movie.
