Excellent portrayal of motherhood

My God, poor mother! The things she had to put up with I don't know how she didn't choke her son! She never shed a tear, not once.

I loved the performances and the dialogue was very well-writen. Raw and harsh, it was painful to hear someone talk to his mother like Hubert did. But it shows how teenagers behave so ungreatfully towards their parents and reminded me of my adolescense and how I would talk back to my mother for whatever reason. Fortunately, my relationship with my mother is good now that I'm almost 30. I guess every teenager goes through a similar phase, it's a difficult age.

The fact that Hubert was gay had nothing to do with his behaviour. In fact, when her mother found out about it, she didn't care. This isn't a gay-themed movie. It's a movie about a mother and the sacrifices she makes without getting recognition and appreciation out of her unconditional love for her son.

It's sad, indeed.
