The bride scene spoilers

Did someone understand the meaning of the scene when Hubert is running after his mother as a bride? What could that mean? I have some opinions myself, but I'm not sure if they're valid at all...

I believe that was actually the teacher in the bride outfit. What does this mean, anybody have ideas?

I believe the meaning may be, although somewhat unsophisticated, that he is trying to stop his mother from marrying and thus later conceiving him. As he said before, she married and had a child because is what almost everyone expect from women.

And relating this with a line that was something like "I had the best relationship with my mother when we hadn't met each other." So if he can stop her from having him, they would, paradoxically, never have met.
