Wow

What a powerful film, a bombardment of strong emotions and frustrations. I cried, felt sadness and emptyness and though I absolutey adore Xavier Dolan with every inch of my body and soul, he was an unlikeable brat, but relateable at the same time.

I gave it a 9/10 and the only reason I didn't give it 10, is because of the sadness I fel afterwards - but that's good filmmaking.

Wow. I was going to start a thread titled that when I saw this one already.
I am in the middle of watching this film at the moment and had to stop to assimilate and digest what I have witnessed so far.
I am a 50 year gay Mexican-American watching this for the first time July 3rd, '15.
I don't know anything much less seen anything about this genial kid or anyone one else in the cast for that matter. I came across it through those suggestions on IMDb on the side. And I'm glad I did.
Breathtaking.
I am undoubtedly going to check out everything Xavier has done or will do.
Currently 26.
When I was 26 I was working as a maitre d' at The Carlyle Hotel while training my voice, yet indulging extensively in nightlife, quite available to me due to my then beauty. Didn't quite work out.
Thus my hat off to Xavier, my instant admiration that will certainly last.
God bless.

Responding years later (just saw the film) I agree with OP and first response. About a year ago I started watching this film and couldn't get past the first argument between the two of them. Don't know why I bothered to go back this weekend but I'm glad I did. That he wrote, directed and starred in his film is remarkable for someone so young. I will definitely check out his other films.
