Topher Grace ... as a serial killer?

Now that's a stretch!

Would you have thought the same of Bundy?

Even if you could get past his wimpy looks I don't understand why Predators would select him. He preys on the weak and his method is one that is completely useless on predators. He is not going to be able to talk them into having a spiked drink or trap them with a social guise.

If they put him there just to screw with the group it doesn't make sense because the humans are already at an extreme disadvantage.

reply

Predators select their targets if they feel their intended "trophy" is worthy for display just like in 'The Most Dangerous Game.' It's the thrill of the hunt. There's a sense of honor in their "sport" so maybe they want to kill him because he's a coward or maybe they've determined something about him regarding his potential.

reply

Maybe, but why bring him to the game planet if he's a coward, just finish him on earth? As for your other hypothesis, I just don't see the potential for his character to trick a predator using his familiar tactics. To me it feels like the end fight in gladiator where maximus is stabbed beforehand. Why weaken an opponent that you already have a tremendous advantage over?

Does seem to contradict the continuity of the 'Predator' lore. Humans are very weak compared to them. If it weren't for the fact that they [predators] consider humanity to be unpredictable; ability to organize and adapt in adverse situations, would not give homo sapiens the time of day. Unless, they are super green rookie predators fresh out of boarding school.
