I'm shocked with full creative control Rodriguez let a novice direct. They had many other options. Would've been better with Neil marshal or even bill duke, he could draw from his first hand experience on the original

Yes, because Ridley Scott, James Cameron and John Carpenter were so experienced when they made Alien, Terminator, Halloween and The Thing respectively. Clearly experience is all that matters.

I feel like this could've been THE great AVP movie. Same story, only drop a bunch of humans and xenomorphs in the jungle of this alien planet and it could have been killer. Sadly the AVP movies ruined that possibility
