No it broke even, it's only in Europe, Italy especially that stop it from being a flop. It still under perform at the box-office in the U.S.A. Domestically it should have double what it cost to make. Which is why Fox studio were not happy with the film, especially since they didn't want Brody as the lead.

Your not taking into account inflation since the first Predator film which was made in 1987. The highest grossing film with a Predator in it would be Alien vs Predator which made $80.281.096 in the U.S. alone and $172.5 million worldwide.
shareReally, my only nitpick was Brody's wise, lone-wolf lines he delivered in the foreground. I couldn't help but think of Jason Patric in the flim-witgin-a-tv-show "Smokejumpers".
