what a let down!

i'm a big fan of pen-ek's work. "last life in the universe" and "invisible waves" are two of my favorite films. despite some flaws conceptually, "ploy" had near-perfect execution...

then there's this film: other than it's opening tracking shot, there's very little of interest. the characters are flat, the story is non-existant, and the locations are drabby. what "plot points" there are, pen-ek has already exhausted in his previous films, so all the "twists" are visible from the get-go. the only redeeming quality of this film is the sound design-- ambient music mixed perfectly with the sounds of the forest.

this film is only a "must" for die-hard fans of pen-ek.
