Wasn't Ta...Spoilers!!

Mega Spoilers!!

I just started watching this one after just watching the previous (#2) and I'm puzzled...wasn't Ta, evil stepmommy Panor's first victim? After she ate the shaman or witch doctor or whatever. I can get that they (the police) didn't shoot her to death (Panor) when it seemed that it was pretty likely they had, but at the end of the second one, Kim was watching the tv newcast when it came out that Ta was found dead in the river and had been there for a while, now he's back looking healthy. Maybe I missed something? Maybe I should watch the whole thing, eh?

Really icky movies, btw. Good, in their own ways. If you like black magic and torture then all 3 of these Art Of The Devils are right up your alley. Though I always find a lesson in other cultures' superstitions interesting...I prefer Japanese and Korean horror, myself.

Ta seemed to have been reanimated. Did you see at the end of the film after Ta got off the boat, his body was like messed up, burnt, clothes torn etc, I had to rewind and pause it cause he looked like he was wearing a costume or something lol. Totally forgotten what happened to him in the previous movie.

I saw #2 two years back so I forgot most of it, I only remembered they video taped the teacher making out with another teacher, and she poured frigging boiling water down someone's throat at the end.

How I understood it, long khong 2 is more like a prequel. I was thinking the same thing as you, and after getting halfway through, I went to check the message boards to see if there was an explanation. I think it shows what took place in the time between school and the reunion. It seems she went in the nuthouse after por put the curse on her to hurt herself. Then they performed the ritual to replace the souls and that's why the father killed himself after his wife tortured him using the teacher's body. Then the mirror breaks, panor's soul is free and goes back into her body. Her reign of terror starts from there with killing the whole family and art of the devil 2( long khong) takes it from there. That's the only way I can get it to make sense.

'Art of the Devil 3' could be quite confusing and even frustrating for anyone who hasn't seen already 'Art of the Devil 2'. You gotta watch AOTD2 in order to fully understand the events depicted on AOTD3. Albeit technically speaking AOTD3 is a prequel, not a sequel.
Frankly I didn't like AOTD1 nor AOTD3. IMO the best installment of the series by a landslide is AOTD2.
