shareThe guy looks more like Gary Numan to me, and theres nobody like Gary Page I think. BTW - Numans music is totally different
Darkness lies an inch ahead
Gary Page is obviously a persiflage of Gary Numan. And I believe it is there to give a timing to the movie, e.g. the eighties, when Mahmud was in his teens, or twens.
And for somebody like me, one that is not in the business of finding a new genre_ish name for every song just because it is in another key, or that has a different velocity than the rest … well, for one like me, it these songs sounds pretty close to what Gary Numan did, or at least the genre I would put Gary Numan in.
Hahaha, never mind; only picking …

1rst edit:
Ah, and one more thing (I just watching the movie while typing all this): the muslim leader later in the movie is making the same gesture (blinding the left eye with his hand) as Gary does earlier, both seen on TV. This brings up a proximity of pop stars and religious leader that I find interesting … But maybe that is just for image_nerds like me.
2cnd edit:
ha, it gets even better; the two are the same person. This I find is a smart turn: popstars going priests - both feeding the peoples need 'to believe',
