Somewhat Trite (some spoilers)

I won't spoil the whole thing but I found the story rather trite compared to the other Prologue movie that was posted on Youtube a while back. That was actually a pretty good Ju-On spin-off.

This one seemed more like they borrowed the story from "Amityville Horror 2" where the son is possessed. They seemed to have taken alot of elements from a short story on the series "Kaiden Shinmimibukuro" where the old hag appeared as a spirit in a mirror that a boy accidentally releases. She carries a basketball there aswell. It was not a great story and I found it rather cheesy how she was a big element here. I'm guessing some High School or Jr High Student in Japan asked someone to make a story around the old hag and here it is. :P I think that lady was the old woman from the original Ju-On. She was actually about the only interesting thing about this movie and made me laugh.

They also seemed to borrow elements from Ju-On 2 which was the silliest and worst of all the movies in the series. It was just so badly done but is worth watching for the cheesy factor.

Other than that, it did have it's scary moments but it felt more like a Japanese version of "Scary Movie" but all based around Ju-On. I wonder if they were spoofing the movie in a way.

Anyhow... other than the gratuitous violence that was a bit on the sickening side, anyone else think this was rather hohum and trite?
