Very Interesting

A solid, enjoyable addition to the series. Not as creepy as previous movies, but still had it's moments. The scene where that guy stabs his girlfriend is pretty disturbing. But, like someone mentioned in another thread, the old woman ghost clutching the basketball borders on laughable.

What's interesting is some new information about the curse.

The original curse can propogate a new, independent curse;
The son was obviously possessed or at least influenced by Toshio/Kayako.

A few people survive the curse in this one;

Akane is seemingly protected from the curse by the little girl.
Only one of Akane's high-school friends is killed.
The detective who listens to the tape (I think. Can anyone clarify?)
Also, did the guy who stabbed his girfriend actually die?

It would be interesting to know what kind of timeline this occurs in.
Pre or post Kayako's "rebirth" in Ju-on: The Grudge 2...

Enough rambling. I'm off to watch Kuroi Shuojo :D

I thought the curse had something to do with the ju-on in the kuroi movie cause that seemed to be the house where..........

*beep* auntie and her family lived before they were slaughtered.I think the Toshio was just hanging out there because he was drawn to all the negative emotions from the house.

I think the guy was possessed by an evil being in the mirror. I read via wikipedia that this movie has elements from a short the director of the movie made called Full-Length Mirror so whatever is in that mirror in that short is what's in the mirror in this movie. From what I can tell the delivery guy appeared to still be alive though after seeing what he did he probably would of killed himself and I'm not sure with the detective that listens to the tape. It appeared that he's still alive but the way his scene ended made it a bit hard to tell.

Exactly. I haven't seen 'Full-Length Mirror,' but yeah, the Duplicate in the Mirror grabbed him by the wrist: either it changed him fundamentally, or the Copy switched roles with him completely. Later, Mirai tells Akane that her uncle became a different person after moving into the house, and I took this as an insinuation that his personality change began when he was "touched" by his mirror image "evil twin" doppelgaenger thingie.

These Ju-On stories are only loosely tied together. They're based on Shimizu's other short stories about different curses. The house was cursed because of a prior event (Kuroi Shoujo), but the spirit in the mirror is actually what gets a hold of the son (Toshio and Kayako were a little more hands on with their torturing). It can't be Mr. Saeki either, as he was never a cursed spirit.

Also, since the movie's only an hour long I'm sure the rest of those people other than Akane died in typical Grudge fashion.
