Family tree

ok it was a little confusing but I think this is how the family went.
Grandmother (paternal or maternal don't know)
Father
Mother (step-mother to the son?)
Son
Eldest daughter
Mirai (youngest daughter) - this one got me thinking when the father and mother are talking to the eldest daughter it cuts to the youngest hearing them talk about the older girl being pregnant at 16 and coming home.
Does anyone think this means that Mirai is the granddaughter of the father and mother? This would explain why the son was harassing the little girl as his half-niece as opposed to a little sister. And was he sexually abusing the little girl?
What do you think?

reply

it should be the grandmother has two sons...the older one is mirai's father, the younger one is the killer.......i think.....

Maybe the father who is clearly older already had the his son before he met current wife.Mirai is the daughter of the mother's daughter she had when she was 16.

Then that would mean the uh guy she calls brother isnt really related to her? IDK thats the most logical explanation I can come up with.

Yes, I definitely got the impression from that scene that Mirai was indeed the eldest daughter's child, making her the granddaughter, not the 2nd daughter.

I saw this via Netflix Instant Viewing and the sub for it had her calling the son, uncle so she likely is the elder daughter's daughter.

Yeah, Mirai is definitely the eldest daughter's child. The father snaps at her off camera about being a teen mom after she makes a smart remark about her step mother. It's hard to tell because you can't actually see the characters, but that's his daughters voice when he brings it up.

Indeed, Mirai call Atsushi "oji-chan", what means "uncle". Even little Akane, when they both are having their serious conversation, asks Mirai for his "oji-san", again, uncle.

I think it goes like this:

Haru: Grandmother (probably by the mother side, she's not credited as "Haru Isobe/Isobe Haru" as far as I know).
Kentaro Isobe: Father.
Miho Isobe: Kentaro's second wife. It's been stated on the movie that she's not Atsushi's mother, and Atsuko calls her "Miho-san", implying she's not her mother neither.
Atsushi Isobe: Kentaro's eldest son, Miho's stepson, Atsuko's brother, Mirai's uncle.
Atsuki Isobe: Kentaro's daughter, Miho's stepdaughter, Atsuko's sister, and implying for the conversation between her father and her about her pregnancy at 16, Mirai's mother.
Mirai: Atsuko's daughter, Atsushi's niece, Kentaro's grandaughter, Miho's step-grandaughter, Haru's great grandaughter (probably "political").

What a mess!

Anyone recalls someone named "Junko Isobe"? Who was she?

Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language.
