How come nobody made spears?

No one thought to carve a spear out of a stick to kill some of those grazing fish in the first episodes?
C'mon!

That's what I'm sayin.
Did you see all those salmon in the stream and they didn't catch a damn one.
Also, why didn't the fishing guy think of that.
I think there was a lot of poor decision making in the first two episodes.

Oh Yes, Dave1031 I hope you brought a spare bowl of candy beans. lol!!!

Why go to their banana stand when we can make your banana stand?

Isn't the "C'mon" from Arrested development?

reply

No, sorry. It's all mine. Not too familiar with that show.

That was a bit of editing. They had an underwater shot of salmon, but that could have been filmed anywhere at anytime. This show uses some b roll of animals they never seemed to actually encounter.

However there was no excuse when they hooked a fish 12 or so times and only caught one. I mean, they were realllly stupid. It didn't seem to catch on to them at any point that the line couldn't hold suspended out of the water. Every single time they reeled it in, then tried to have the line do all the work instead of just leaning over and picking the fish up. Also I thought they had mentioned they were keeping 1 fishing net, but maybe they had left that by then.

They were fishing on a steep muddy bank by a deep part of water, giving the fish all the advantage, meanwhile literally 10 feet in front of them was a little peninsula of flat rocky land that sloped casually into the water, there they could position themselves anyway they wanted and if they reel in a fish they would be in the easiest position nature could provide to pull in a fish.

But of course that's the fun of the show. They didn't know anything and had to learn it all the hard way.
