Maybe I misheard but I thought the documentary implied that the 30th anniversary TV special didn't take place. But it clearly did. I saw it. And it's up on imdb.
Just saw it, and in the last episode, Eric Idle mentions discussing some series in Aspen with the others about some new television material. Then Idle says it didn't happen because Michael Palin didn't want it to. From what I understand, the 30th Anniversary special was not quite what Idle meant; a few new sketches, as well as the BBC premiere of "Life of Brian" and a few new documentaries. I think Idle was talking about a full move/new episodes. Plus, Idle didn't participate in the new material for Python night.
