Something I don't understand..

Why did one of darko's man (the guy with the shotgun) shoot Ed?? Did he mistake him for one of the kidnappers? Did he just coincidentally happen to bump into Ed, Alison, Anna being chased by the kidnappers? And he simply instantaneously recognized Anna and assumed Alison/Ed were the kidnappers?

Another thing that I didn't understand was why darko or Anna's dad didn't take the effort to figure who Alison was? isn't it natural out of curiosity to figure out who was this woman running around with Anna trying to get away from the kidnappers? For all they knew, Alison could have been one of the kidnappers herself.

As i understood it, Darko's man thought Ed was a kinnapper since they were running with the girl. There is nothing much to think about it.
I guess girl's father has gotten to know what really happened and all about hikers and that the girl is in safe hands (off camera) by the time he receives the culprit.

I thought it was the kidnappers that killed Ed not one of Darko's men...

I didn't think the girl was in safe hands, she could've been killed a few dozen times. At the end she was still with Melissa so was her father interested in getting her back, or was he just after revenge on the kidnappers? I could only make out some of the dialogue.

Difficult to tell who was who, with the masks and darkness - the town scenes could pretty much have happened in any order and I'd still have as much of a clue
