I really enjoyed the film until the very end. i give it a 7.5.
Just one thing that was quite confusing. At 36min, after coming out of of the river, Alison faints and finds herself trapped in the box. But then, a second later, she wakes up back next the river. Was this some kind of plot hole or some kind of nightmare in a flash ? It confuses me as the rest of the movie is rather literal and linear.
I thought it was blindingly obvious it was a dream even before she woke up in the river!

I thought it was pretty obvious that this was some sort of flash nightmare... But I was disappointed when they didn't do anything with it. I assumed it might be some sort of foreshadowing, but nope.

The nightmare wasn't meant to lead anywhere, I don't think. I reckon it was just to reinforce that MG's character had empathy for the girl's plight, which is the driving force behind her determination to see the rescue through, rather than just abandoning her out of self-preservation.
