The ending

Did the filmmakers get out with enough film for a movie? Or perhaps it was purposely left unclear. My friend and I had different perceptions on this.

what do you think is unclear?

reply

it's clear that the movie could not be completed because of the riots and the staff leaving the country for their safety

reply

Costa says that they'll finish the film somehow, somewhere. Given the quality of what they've already shot, that would probably be a wise investment. But of course the end product will be compromised.

I agree with emvan. They had said they had to get the cross scene in order to have a movie, and they got that. Once they get to a safe place, they can take stock of what they have and how they can best proceed. The end result won't be exactly what they wanted, but it can be finished.

I understand the cross scene was the last scene in which they needed Daniel's acting. My guess is that the remaining scenes only involved the spanish cast and crew and not the bolivian cast so, given that they managed to convince their actors to return to work in another location, they could have finished the film.
