Visually stunning rendition of excellent book

I just saw this documentary streaming on netflix. I had read the book a few years ago and loved the way it was organized by separate topics--apples, tulips, marijuana, and potatoes, but unified by the themes of plants' surprising evolutionary assertiveness and the role of human desire in the evolution of plants.

This movie honors the book in many ways, including by making its author, Michael Pollan, a main commenter, which is great because he is articulate and charismatic.

But it goes beyond the book in at least two ways. First, it gets commentators on film who are very recent interested parties in the subjects being discussed, and second, the camera work is wonderful. If you love apples, tulips, or marijuana, you will love the visuals of this film. If you love potatoes, not so much.
