It'll be interesting to see how this is received by the fans, the ones who have been watching "Louie."
The Hilarious movie was filmed, I believe in November in 2009, and was shown two months later at Sundance. I saw the show live at the end of April. So much of "Louie's" content is pulled from "Hilarious," at least, the version I saw. I assume that the show is never the same twice, and evolves through the months as he gets different ideas. So the show I saw may have been very different from the filmed special, but I doubt it is significantly different.
So the first season of "Louie" will end, then everyone will be excited to see the "Hilarious" show, and it will be rather anti-climactic, as a good portion of the show was worked into "Louie."
A man can only think of so many ideas at a time; his show was renewed for a second season, and I wonder if it will end up drawing from "Word," his next comedy tour. Maybe he needs to hire another writer or two for "Louie." We'll have to see the reaction from the fans.

Louis CK said himself on his Twitter that "Hilarious" "Louie" and "Word" were all going to be completely different jokes.
I saw Louie perform in a comedy club last November, some time after he finished taping Hilarious. I'm pretty sure the jokes I saw were not jokes from the Hilarious tour, especially considering he never mentioned "Hilarious" or any jokes from the few clips i've seen. The jokes he told were all to be used for the TV series; I've previously heard nearly every joke told in the standup segments in Louie.
