Why first billing?

I have never heard of this movie and I can't find much of any information about it on the internet. Why is it showing in 5 major theaters in Dallas and I have to wait forever for art house movies if they ever show up here? I am serious. Does anyone know? Is it a great director? Hugely popular somewhere else in the world? Something? At first I thought it had something to do with the Film Festival, but 5 theaters?

This is not an art film in the least. He is however a very popular comedian in Mexico, hence the popularity of the movie.

It's because of the distributor, Pantelion "is a synergistic partnership between Lionsgate Entertainment and Grupo Televisa. Pantelion provides Hispanic moviegoers with a steady source of exciting and original films, which include top-rated Latino actors, directors and writers. From broad comedies and dramas, to family movies and romantic comedies, Pantelion produces and acquires movies that speak directly to acculturated and Spanish-dominant Hispanics alike. Additionally, the company’s partnership with the largest cinema chains in America ensures that each film is accessible across the country to enjoy."

Thanks for the information and I hope they continue to distribute like that. The only thing I would suggest is that they encourage people to use websites like this. When I saw the movie was showing in a local theater I immediately went here to find out what it was and there was hardly any information and no reviews. By the way, I have seen it and liked it! I saw it when it came out on DVD. It was kind of like a "hollywood" romantic comedy, but it was more real. Kind of hard to explain that because it was just as unbelievable as any "hollywood" romantic comedy, but that is how I felt.

It came to the first run theater I work at. It only lasted 2 weeks now we don't get any more Pantelion films. We did not even get "Go For It!" I highly recommended seeing "Saving Private Perez" though great new film from Pantelion.
