This is what it reminded me of. What would have happened if Dexter was caught and what the public's view of him would be.

Very good film, and some very good performances, especially from the lead and his wife.

Dexter was better overall. Acting, Directing, Writing etc.
John Doe needed more things to be considered very good in my opinion.

Dexter didn't kill for justice. He wanted to kill, and Harry taught him to focus on criminals. If it wasn't for the code he would kill random people.
