What makes a bad movie good...

When you are talking about the worst movies of all time, I Frankenstein ranks higher than Sharknado. Why? Because the people who made Sharknado KNEW they were making a bad movie and played up the camp to get laughs (much like the Scary movie spin-offs). I Frankstein was made to be a quality picture but failed spectacularly. The studios spent $65 MILLION to make this stinker. Just think about the flaws in this movie that make it hilariously inept. The scene where there is an American cop trying to arrest 'Adam' made me laugh harder than anything in Sharknado. Why? Because this was CLEARLY set in Europe and not USA. Gargoyles and demons fighting in the streets was lame and atrocious yet unintentionally hilarious. Why? Because there is not one person to be seen in a sprawling modern European city. Didn't anyone wake up to see flames in the night sky or walk to work the next morning and wonder why there were so many piles of ash everywhere? What about the church. It exists for hundreds of years and no civilian bothers to actually walk inside? In 200 years, Naberious couldn't have got one person to infiltrate the church and steal Frankenstein's scientific journal? What about the fact that the gargoyles didn't realise that Naberious' palace was just across the road from the church? They couldn't figure that one out yet 'Adam' can just walk past security to get inside?

These are just little examples that make a bad movie good. Sharknado is a bad movie no doubt, but that's it. It's not funny bad. You read the title and you've already seen the movie.

If insane outnumbered sane, would sane then be considered insane?

Despite this movie's flaws; if you enjoyed Sharknado more; which was pure excrement and unwatchable on every level, goes to show your state of mind; or lack of it.

Larosat did you actually read what I wrote? Sharknado is a bad movie yes but I can't enjoy it because it's TRYING to make me laugh. I Frankenstein was made with the best intentions but failed miserably. That's what makes it good. Catch my drift?

I, FRANKENSTEIN: 0/10
SHARKNADO: 4/10 (I felt it was only tongue-in-cheek at times)

Is it sort of like the "Plan 9 From Outer Space" effect? A movie is so bad and unintentionally funny because of it, it can become 'good' to fans. There are a few movies like that for me. I watch them not because they are well directed/acted/etc films, I watch because I groan and laugh at how horrendous the acting is or how many plot holes make it impossible to have a sensible storyline to follow.

You nailed it Mystery-Moon. You have to see that effort was made but for whatever failed to produce anything of artistic merit.
