Brief Review

It was pretty awesome, although there were a few problems that prevent it from being one of the all time great rock doc's:

1) The drummer issue. I realize that they didn't want to get into it, but really? That cheesy little video Crowe did, just didn't cut it.

2) The end. Ummmm, I can see how they didn't need to mention Riot Act specifically (they talked about the era), but couldn't they have spoken a bit about the self-titled album and how they went back to doing magazines and how they marketed a record on their own? They didn't mention Backspacer's success and their return to SNL and heavy radio rotation?

3) No discussion of Eddie's solo work, how the band feels about it, any mention of Brad or any of the other side bands or where they see themselves heading in the future (ie, some type of closure).

4) The David Lynch shot. Awful. What was that?

I guess if those are my complaints, it wasn't too bad. As a huge PJ fan (that reminds me, you think they'd at least explain the bands name for people viewing that don't know), my biggest complaint is it wasn't twenty hours long. Anyway, definitely enjoyable, not sure about it's replay value for me.

I forget what exactly was the reason David Lynch was mentioned, but the shot was from his awful interview with Eddie Vedder. So there was kind of a reason for it. I forget why Lynch interviewed Ed, but it is one of the all-time worst interviews ever.
