shareHe made a valid point about teens whining and not contributing much to society I think. It's teenage angst, and everyone grows out of it. I'm 26 years old and I couldn't possibly understand where I was coming from at 16
shareYou missed the point. My mom's point was, that Nirvana's music touched the girl saddened by Kurt Cobain's death and that shouldn't be mocked because she was young or it was grunge music that did it.
While I never felt that way about Nirvana's music, I've been profoundly impacted by art, as have many people. Most of my favorite artists are alive or died before I discovered them, but my mom cried when her favorite writer Kurt Vonnegut died and she was in her 50s at the time! Is that any different than the girl who cried over Cobain's death?
