How does this compare to Europa Europa?

I really admire Agnieska Holland's work. She writes stories with unique characters and situations, and shows honest emotion without being overly sentimental.

Are there any fans of Europa Europa here? If so, I'm wondering if you recommend In Darkness as well. Europa Europa is one of my favorite WWII films. Sure there are several good films about Jews escaping the Nazis, but this story was unlike all the others. It was dramatic, clever, funny, emotionally satisfying and thrilling. Is In Darkness in the same league?

P.S. I also really loved Julie Walking Home (The Healer). I found it deeply moving and thought provoking. (It probably would have been more commercially successful if it had a more predictable "Hollywood" ending, rather than the ambiguous and thought provoking ending it had.)
