When is the release?

Anyone know when, or if, this film will be released? Or is it just going to DVD? I've got it on my queue at Netflix, they say it'll be out on DVD in January but they don't know the date.

There are two 'The Irishman" coming out in 2010. I believe it is the other smaller production that is going straight to DVD.

My understanding is that this "Irishman" will be opening around St Patrick's day. Let's keep our fingers crossed. I am a BIG Ray fan...*swoon*

I don't know, but I just read on this website
http://www.thecelebritycafe.com/feature/val-kilmer-and-christopher-wal ken-star-irishman-01-03-2010
that it's scheduled for release in late 2010?

I have no idea where they got it from though. Can anyone confirm?

reply

Somewhere a while back I read it was October 2010...but who knows. A lot of mystery and confusion about the release date.

reply

IMDb is now saying November, 2010, but I've seen nothing official to confirm that.

IMDb listing says November 2009, not 2010.

^ You're right! See what happens when you read something that makes no sense? The mind simply re-writes it!

Actually, that date must refer to the screening at AFM.

I found another random site now that says it "won't be out until at least next December"!

Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Jeezus that seems too long.

I'm not taking any of this seriously until we hear from Code Entertainment.

reply

Same here. I'm just impatient...

I read The Irishman did good business at AFM but no buyers; hence perhaps back to post-production. Now it will be shown at EFM that starts Feb. 11th. It has too many stars and a great story not to get released so I would expect it by years end or maybe St Pat's day 2011.

I've read the first part of the statement...that they did "good business" but not that they failed to make a sale. Do you have sources for that comment? If so, please post them.

Thanks.

It seems to have just been changed from "in production" to finished.

But no new release date has been set.

reply

I hope this gets distribution. It deserves a shot at theatrical release.

Dark Horizons .com: The Notable Films of 2010, "Analysis: Though said to have done good business at AFM, there's still no word on a North American distributor or even potential theatrical release for this American-Irish crime drama that apparently took over a decade to get the screen rights to. A shame considering the strong cast involved."

On IMDB page it states this will be shown at the Europe Film Market Fed 11 - ?. I hope someone picks it up. It deserves distribution.
