'News clips in the film' was tha archive footage?

I really liked the way this movie was shot it makes it look and feel authentic you felt like it was the 1970's. My question is sometimes it's so good I can't tell did they use the real clips from the local news or were they actors? It seemed like whenever they cut to those news breaks about Danny or somebody getting killed it was archive footage. It's so hard to tell but in the end I'm almost positive they used a real clip with the real Danny with his back turned.

All of the news (some of which was national) clips were all real footage, as was the ending with Danny Greene.

From what I can recall, the only staged/faux clip was the interview where Greene (Stevenson) challenged the mafia to come after him. This is a bit perplexing to me; it was obviously doctored to appear as vintage as possible, and Stevenson's lines are what Greene actually said verbatim. Why, then, after going to such lengths to preserve accuracy, did they have Stevenson wearing a tank top, when in real life he was shirtless?

That's a good question and I appreciate the response I thought it was real just wasn't for sure. I really liked how it was filmed the look of it blended perfectly with the news footage and even the regular parts of the movie it felt like being in the actual time period. I really enjoyed the movie I can't wait for the DVD release I will definitely be buying it can't wait to see it again.

1) The Stevenson scene is not verbatim, just very close.
2) In the archive footage Greene isn't shirtless. His shirt is just a pale yellow. You can see the collar.

If it's not EXACT, the difference is beyond negligible...how's about we say quasi-verbatim?

Yeah, he's clearly wearing a shirt Do you always confuse your necklace with your shirt collar?

3) You didn't answer my question, which makes your presence not only unwelcome and intrusive, but also irrelevant.

4) Go fu__ck yourself.

I've listened to it a couple of times and I'm pretty sure that the scene where Danny (Stevenson) is facing the camera has Greene's real speech dubbed over it. Greene's voice with Stevenson lip synching it. And if so, they did a lot of work on it because I couldn't see any misses with the synching but it really sounds like it.
