Why did it end?

Does anyone know why the show ended? Did it just run its course? I feel like it could have gone on for at least a couple more seasons. Were the actors just ready to move on to other things or did it get cancelled?

My guess is the ratings declined. Besides the show when's downhill a bit after season three.
