We know some time elapsed because Luke was locked up for 16 days.. Maybe the babymama got infected 20 minutes before her brother arrived OR WHATEVER. But assuming babymama had undergone seroconverstion for more than 3 days, The time it takes to die of thirst, my questions are:
Who was caring for her baby?
Why did zomebiemama not eat her baby?
If you remember the scene towards the end, where the NSA guy and the others were up against the wall
(literally) with zombies about to attack them, the zombies inexplicably backed off, when that baby let out
a rather blood-curdling wail. It was a combination of normal baby-cry and that no-eyes-girl banshee wail,
which of course was significant: during the final credits, there is one last head-shot of the baby, and you
see his eyes flicker in a mutant-kind-of way. So the baby is either some kind of hybrid, born while the mom
had already zombified, or it's immune but mutated in some kind of anti-zombie way. But it ain't no normal
baby, Jack. (pun intended)
Anyway, I also wondered why the mom didn't eat the baby; at first I thought it was because somewhere
deep inside, she had a maternal instinct - but obviously, she was either afraid of it, or "couldn't" attack it,
due to the baby's mutation or whatever. The same reason the other zombies backed off when the baby
cried.
I really wanna know more about that baby! Don't think there'll be a sequel though, LOL.
June, everything you say makes sense.... BUT... who fed the baby all along? Do you think the zombified mother was breastfeeding it and that is how the baby got the zombie powers?

the baby or what. Maybe there was some baby formula (conveniently) lying around the house??
Like I said ... I don't really remember; I can't even remember which channel I watched the movie on.
This is the one concept about the movie that makes it deserve a sequel. I want to know more about the creepy baby. I usually hate babies in 'zombie' movies, but this one is useful...and when he grows up? Who knows!?
