I contend that they are using the style of humor from The Office for this show.

The Office was Mindy Kaling's first big show and it was a mockumentary featuring zany people making crazy comments at inappropriate times. I think they are doing the same thing with this show but they are using Scooby Doo characters.

They are at the funeral for the dead high school girl and they repeatedly call her a SLUT. Velma encounters the two cops and she makes a comment about how lesbians are always good detectives on police shows. Velma also says that she would kill everyone if she was a rich white guy since they can get away with it. Velma also made a comment that she spits out the truth without a filter like every comedian before Metoo.

These are all inappropriate and offensive comments that MIGHT have been funny if uttered by The Office characters Dwight Schrute and Michael Scott. I don't think that style of humor will work with basic animation since that sort of humor requires facial expressions and comedic actors. I watched parts of the first couple episodes through the YT link below. The young lady gives good commentary while reacting to the show.
